Ayurveda considers sleep to be an essential part of life.
आहार निद्रा ब्रह्मचर्य is said as traya-upstambha
Good sleep is essential for proper functions of Body.
fat loss, muscle building are also depends upon your sleep habits.
Due to fast and stressful life most people nowadays remain sleep deprived.
Sleep is the time when the body has the ability to heal itself, let go of emotional stress, and repair physical imbalances.
According to Ayurveda,There are three major types of sleep imbalances :-
- Vat imbalances
- pitta imbalance
- kapha imbalance.
Tiredness, low productivity, some chronic disease are also occurs due to sleep deprivation.
This blog is for how can you get blissful sleep.
SOME WORST HABITS OF SLEEPING :-
1. Irregular Sleep Timing :-
Irregular timings of sleep disturbs our Biological-clock and affects on your mood, Heart function, mental alertness, and other body functions.
So always try to sleep and wake up at almost the same time.
Best time to sleep is 9PM to 5 AM.
2. Wrong sleeping posture:-
Never sleep in fetal posture, warp it up position, head on arm position and face down position.
sleeping on back is the right position to sleep.
left side position is also beneficial for your digestive system.(Always remember that, RIGHT IS WRONG, LEFT IS RIGHT !!)
3. Consuming Sleep inhibitors :-
do not take coffee or tea before 6 to 8 hours of sleeping.
specially coffee contains caffeine, which inhibits your sleep.
So do not have it before sleep.
4. Bad habits before sleeping :-
do not take excessive dinner and water after dinner.
do not exercise or work out before sleeping.
Don’t eat right before bed.
5. No screen time 2 hours before bed :-
As tempting as it may be to watch TV from the comfort of your bed, this can actually have a negative impact on your health.
The blue light emitted from our screens makes it harder for our brains to relax.
6. Don’t nap too late :-
Everybody loves a quick power nap between activities, but napping wrong and for too long can actually do more harm than good.
If you must take naps, keep them short and earlier in the day.
GOOD HABITS FOR DEEP AND SOUND SLEEP:-
1. Optimal bedroom environment :-
Find your perfect temperature, keep things dark, eliminate distracting clutter, turn bright clocks away from you, and make sure your bed and pillows are comfy.
wear lose and cotton clothes as your night dress.
2. Create a sleep schedule :-
Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends.
Your body will eventually adjust and you’ll wake up naturally, which makes you feel less tired!
3. Direction of your head during sleep :-
This factor is mostly ignored by the people.
but a very important science is placed behind it.
keep your head in East direction is beneficial for brain functions.
But Never keep your head in North Direction.
A Reason behind it, is that - Earth has its own magnetism called an earth magnetism.
we are living in North hemisphere of earth. So in North direction more magnetic field generates.
as you know human blood has a Iron which attracts by magnetic field, so magnetic field effects directly on your head, If you will keep it in North direction.
the effects of magnetic field is too much less. So it's a harmful after too long time.
4. Get regular exercise :-
A side from the number of health benefits and protections against illnesses it brings, having a regular activity schedule can help give you a better good night’s sleep.
You’ll find you can relax easier if you maintain a healthy exercise routine, but don’t do it right before bed!
5. Use natural supplements :-
This should only be after a discussion with your doctor! They can help you determine which supplements will serve you best.
6. Make a solid bedtime routine :-
Take a warm bath or shower, do some relaxing stretches and meditation, keep a journal so you can get your thoughts out, or read a book!
The more consistent your schedule, the more comfortable your body will be with falling asleep when you need it to.
7. Drink a warm milk before sleeping ;-
According to Ayurveda , for a deep sleep you must drink a warm milk.
add some turmeric powder or ashwagandha powder in it.
it's a very beneficial for healing process.
