Health Benefits of walnuts

Walnuts are rich source of omega 3 fatty acid which is polyunsaturated type of fatty acid.

Omega 3 fatty acids are considered absolutely essential, and can only be obtained only by consumption of certain kinds of food.

Walnuts are a good source of protein and dietary-fibre. 

Walnuts are loaded with Vitamin E, Vitamin B6, folate and thiamine


As well as, Walnuts are also a good source of:

  • manganese
  • copper
  • magnesium
  • phosphorus
  • vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) 
  • iron

Nutrition profile of walnut according to USDA :-



1]. Increases brain memory and good for nervous system:-

As I said above, walnuts are rich source of omega-3-fatty acid which is essential fatty acid. 

So, it improves nervous system and heart and brain functions and memory. 

2]. Walnuts for hair :-

Daily intake of proper amount of walnuts improves shining and growth of hair due to Pottasium, omega-3, 6 and 9 which are essential for hair growth. 

3]. Walnuts for bones :-

Daily intake of walnut makes strongs our bones because walnuts are also source of alpha linolenic acid Phosphorus and calcium. 

Also it maintains the bone minerals density and prevents osteoporosis


4]. Walnuts for weight loss:-

Due to high fiber walnuts are helpful in weight loss. 

Even though it is rich in calories, it reduces hunger and helps in weight loss. 

5]. It controls blood sugar :- 

Walnuts help in building resistance for insulin, control blood glucose levels and lower the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

6]. Walnuts for glowing skin :-

Due to Anti-oxidants and some other nutritions like protein, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, selenium and omega-3-fatty acid which makes our skin glowing. 

7]. During Pregnancy :-

Eating walnuts during pregnancy helps in reducing the symptoms of nausea and in proper brain development in children.


How to include walnuts in your daily diet:

  • Add walnuts to your breakfast cereals like porridge, oats or muesli. 
  • Crush some walnuts and sprinkle them salad or cooked vegetables. 
  • Take 1-2 walnuts with 2 soaked almonds every day in the morning. 
  • Sprinkle them over a bowl of curd or yogurt. 
  • Add them to muffins, breads, brownies, chocolates etc.

Consuming walnut oil helps lower the cholesterol levels in the body. 

This way it helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. 

You must include walnut oil in your regular diet.

We all experience those horrible fungal infections that leave us feeling helpless. 

Walnut oil is your answer to those infections.

 It helps fight fungal infections really well. 

Fighting Wrinkles:

Walnut oil is great for fighting wrinkles. 

It has a greasy texture but its regular application can actually help the fine lines and wrinkles to disappear with time. 

Promotes Hair Growth:

Walnut oil promotes hair growth as it is high on potassium.

Potassium is essential because it helps the regeneration of cells and hence accelerates hair growth.

Yes, you read it right. Walnut oil helps cut belly fat. It can be easily consumed by substituting other oil with walnut oil .
